As our ‘operating systems’ in Education move from 1.0: Teacher Centric to 4.0: Co-creative: activating deeper sources of learning, learner agency (voice, choice, ownership) become a central focus of learning. We are able to engage staff, parents and students regularly in a range of ways to develop a co-creative, eco-system approach. The information our schools are receiving through the Quality Schools Survey is a platform which provides us with rich data and can result in deeper investigation and connection with the various stakeholders to ensure greater agency for staff, students and parents.
Later this month, the staff at LESNW will be exploring the feedback from all of the learning communities which will assist us with the co-creative process, particularly in areas such as Christian Studies. We look forward to sharing with you the outcomes of our exploration.
Growing Deep Vocational Practices provides further support for learner agency:
- Excellence in learning: “…The learning environment promotes active engagement, risk taking, motivation and strong learner voice.
- Ongoing improvement and innovation: “…Excellence is pursued through a culture of reflection, collaboration, innovation and creativity”
- Community Building: “…Positive and strategic partnerships are developed and maintained with students, families, local Christian communities, the broader community and Lutheran education.
