Earlier this month I returned to Pt Lincoln to join with the leaders at Navigator at their regular after school non-compulsory leadership summit. Starting with circle time, the leaders shared what they have been exploring in relation to awareness-based systems leadership across the school. We spent time digging deeper into systems thinking capabilities and connections to Growing Deep capabilities. Through the use of practices such as journaling and a dialogue walk, key areas for each of the leaders emerged.
The following day, 100 mins was provided for sub-school leaders to further explore and prototype action in response to core areas for leadership within their areas of the school. It was fabulous to see the move from ‘What I need to do?” to “How do I need to be?” Exciting prototypes and action have already occurred, including use of ABSL and Theory U with year 12 students as part of a retreat.
The energy and collaboration which is flowing from this process is clearly evident and it will be exciting to track how this group of leaders work with their teams and students to co-create their preferred future!
