In recent time across our region (SA, NT & WA) we have once again been confronted with the uncertainty of COVID and associated restrictions that this imposed. Further to this there are those who have experienced personal circumstances such as ill health of self or a member of close family, the passing of a family member or close friend, or other challenging and or traumatic events.
It is therefore understandable that we might question ‘why this this happening?’ Coupled with this we may ask ‘where is God in all of this?’ The reality is that this is part of the ebb and flow of life, however this doesn’t provide much consolation in times of desolation and despair.
God hasn’t promised that we won’t suffer in this life, but He has told us that he’ll walk through our valleys with us. He’ll be right by our side, and his grace will be enough.
One of hardest things to do is to have faith that God is working, and to not be afraid of all the things that come our way.
When we look to God, he will give us the strength we need to carry through the challenging times.
Here are some bible verses speaking to his unwavering love for us, and how he will give us strength when we draw close to him in prayer.
Deuteronomy 31:6,8 Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread … because it is the Lord your God who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Psalm 121:1-2 I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
