The past 24 hours has been a whirl-wind for residents in SA.
The broad based lock down has required us all to rethink, reframe and react.
I commend everyone of you in your response to the imposed conditions and the communication had with staff, students and families to provide reassurance and confidence through this time of uncertainty.
- AISSA continues to provide updates on operational aspects of the lockdown and implications for schools and ECCs. Most recently clarification was provided on definition of essential workers and vulnerable people. Please don’t hesitate to contact either Roger or me for clarification on any aspect of the COVID lockdown.
There are a few things that warrant repeating as they are central to LESNW workplace culture and practice through times such as we are experiencing:
- I recommend that learning communities only have essential staff attend the learning community, sufficient to meet duty of care responsibilities and operational requirements. I realise that this will be hard to determine in advance.
- It is strongly recommended that learning communities do not undertake any stand downs at this stage.
- I strongly recommend that if you are not providing distant learning at this time that staff maintain pastoral connection with their students.
Throughout all this please take care of yourself so that you are best positioned to be support to others.
Let us embrace the work and wonder of this day
with fresh commitment.
May we go forward together
in the power of the love of God
in the company of Jesus Christ
and by the leading of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
