Commonwealth Government Funding transition to DMI 2021,2022– During today you will receive an update on the proposed System funding distribution for 2021 and 2022. Over the last weeks and months our FRAC, Board and Secretariat have worked hard (and together) to reassess the situation. We have been grateful for the patience of our members but it has taken time as we have :
- Asked questions and sought answers
- Listened and collected feedback
- Liaised with members
- Assessed modelling
- that honours individual sites, while not compromising our associations health
- that is fair, transparent and explainable
- that is consistent with our policies
You will have also noted that our secretariat has set a number of meeting times in the lead up to our SGM on Thursday the 17th which will provide opportunity for members to further unpack the strategy that is being put before them.
I encourage you to engage in these online opportunities.
Strategic Plan Strategies – The work of developing strategies continues and the working groups have done/are doing a terrific job. Our Board this week considered these and we are working towards sharing these strategies in the coming month. These strategies will be supported by actions and together with our goals will help refine and shape the next iteration of our association. One in which our ultimate aim is to be a community of communities that is better together.
Board Members – I have to say that I feel immeasurably proud to be a part of our FRAC and Board. The plan to move to ‘skill based’ model continues to prove to be an excellent direction for us I believe.
Understanding that our Board and committees do not act in a representational way, and I witness that first hand in every decision that has been made, we rely on nominations from you to ensure we maintain strong governance and organizational health.
We have a vacancy for an ‘Independent’ member to join our Board, preferably someone with business and finance skills. If you have a recommendation, please contact me.
I wish you all every blessing for the remaining weeks of this term.
