The COVID pandemic has definitely elevated the focus of risk management both at an executive level and across Learning Communities.
There is no doubt there has been significant time and resource expended in determining what operational controls are in place to mitigate the risks identified to keep our communities safe.
With the warmer weather starting to arrive staff are no doubt also planning excursions for Term 3 and considering if they have covered all the possible risk scenarios in their risk assessments.
CompliSpace has provided a Webinar Series: Excursion Risk Management identifying what leaders and teachers need to know about managing risk which may be helpful as we have moved into a heightened awareness of risk and further possible restrictions.
CompliSpace has also developed online excursion planning PlanCheckGo (PCG) and risk management SafeTripBuilder (STB) software applications to assist staff in the excursion planning process.
What is covered by PlanCheckGo?
The PCG application provides workflow where staff can plan and manage an excursion, taking them and excursion approvers through the whole excursion process from optional pre-approval through the final approval, pre-departure and importantly an excursion debrief.
PCG assists staff in standardising the excursion process and allowing for copying of excursions from one year to the next. Risk assessments are completed in the SafeTripBuilder application which is integrated with the PCG system providing a seamless experience for staff. Risk assessments are required to be unique and specific to each individual excursion which the system functionality enables.
What does PlanCheckGo NOT cover?
Parental consents are not covered in this software application.
Student Information Management System Integration
PCG integrates with platforms such as Operoo and TASS which do provide the parent consent functionality.
For those learning communities who may utilise the EdSmart or Sentral systems where excursion management and parent consent processes exist the SafeTripBuilder application can be configured to directly integrate with these two systems.
The Regional Office is facilitating a demonstration of the excursion management applications in conjunction with CompliSpace on Friday 17th September at 11:00am via Teams meeting.
