As members, you voted for the ‘Hybrid Model’, a combination of constituent-representation and the expertise based model.
The Working Group responsible for this project continue to meet and are currently preparing a Terms of Reference for the Standing Committees. The next task is to prepare a draft LESNW Constitution for adoption at a Special Meeting in November.
As part of this process the Working Group will also be preparing a draft School Constitution template, which will seamlessly align with LESNW’S Constitution.
Several schools are currently in the process of reviewing their constitutions and are encouraged to either continue in this process or hold off until the revised template is finalised and approved in November.
If you are choosing to continue in your review, ensure that you track all of your changes so that you can apply them to the new template with relative ease when it is delivered.
At Synod in October, the delegates will be voting on a change to the membership of our governing bodies, adjusting the minimum Lutheran membership to a majority, greater than 50 percent.
Subject to this being approved, of which we are confident, this change will be reflected in the new template.
