The 2020 Lab 1.0 group reconvened this week to continue to build personal mastery, team learning and systems thinking and sensing. The group had provided feedback that they wanted to continue to build their leadership capabilities through engagement with readings, tools and practices, hear from leaders who are implementing this approach in their learning communities and to engage in developing a research challenge which relates to their work within their own context.
Tuesday’s session included all of these components. Andrew Jericho from Navigator co-lead the Lab, which included telling the story of building a shared approach to leadership across the ELC to Year 12 campus which included the elements we have been exploring in our Labs.
The group explored “shifting the burden” and how we can move from quick fixes to fundamental solutions in our learning communities. This led into the identification of a challenge question “How might we….?” The leaders will be developing teams to help to inform and shape the question.
We are very grateful to Navigator College for releasing Andrew to be available for the Lab sessions. This commitment to co-leadership of learning labs reflects the LESNW Vision statement of being ‘…. a community of learning communities that is thriving, supportive and compassionate, having a common foundation, that collaborate to enable each community to achieve its vision.’
