On behalf of the LESNW Council it’s our hope and prayer that you find some time away to rest and recuperate during the upcoming semester break . Certainly, we pray for the contingent heading on the Lutherlands tour that their time will be enlightening and safe.
The LESNW Council has not met since the last ‘Governance Corner’ segment but I’d like to share with you some of the process we are undertaking around Strategic Planning.
There are two documents housed on our LESNW Website which are very important and enlightening. One is our current constitution http://www.lesnw.edu.au/about/lesnw-constitution/ and the other one is the LESNW (LSA) current Strategic Plan http://www.lesnw.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2017/06/Strategic-Intentions-2015-2018.pdf
If you read through the plan 2015-2018 you we see that the actions and directions of the LESNW have been very linked to both this plan and the constitutional powers of our association.
But we are now in 2018 and so the time is right to look forward to the 3-5 years and set some strategic intentions, especially in light of the intentions we have around reshaping the Governance Structure of the LESNW.
As many of you will know, The LESNW has invested in the work of Richard Owen and ‘Awareness Based Leadership’. One of the key elements of this is understanding the tensions between the current reality and the preferred future. One of the tools available through this process is a Vision Deployment Matrix and as a Council we will be using this framework to help plot our way to our preferred future.
The key stakeholders in this process are of course the LESNW Council and LESNW Staff as well as Learning Communities. In the coming months you will hear and see more of this and it’s our intention to engage with Learning Communities and Leaders through this process.
