GSLC Darwin is continuing to build the leadership capabilities of those staff with leadership responsibilities. In 2020 the learning leaders engaged in three full day workshops throughout the year, developing personal mastery, team learning and systems thinking with foundational connections to Growing deep. We met again last week in a 90 minute session to reconnect, identifying leadership challenges and opportunities for 2021 and exploring and engaging in tools and awareness practices.
The 2021 group of leaders which includes heads of campuses and sub-schools and leaders of well-being came together to explore:
- Leadership capabilities:
Learning and Adapting (Mental Models)
- theory U (beginning)
- Awareness practices: journaling, check in, dialogue walk
- Tools: “How we show up” to meetings
The final word (reading process)
- Vision/Aspiration: What is it I want to grow? Create?
- System-thinking: ice-berg Model
Each of the leaders has identified an area to of focus which relates to the school and personal vision for 2021. I look forward to continuing to work with the two groups throughout the year in order to develop a common language and approach to building leadership capabilities across the whole school community.
