LESNW Strategic Intentions – Goals and related strategies/actions
Goal One: To nurture the expression of grace as a reflection of God’s unconditional love
LESNW will commit to strengthening our understanding of the role of our
learning communities in contributing positively to the mission of the church in
Goal Two: Growing community – we are better together
LESNW recognises the value of each of our diverse learning communities as a
strength. All LESNW communities cooperate and collaborate for the betterment
of each community and LESNW.
Goal Three: Holistic learning that serves others and enhances the world
Our learning communities value the gifts of all individuals and work with them to
co-create a hope-filled future through excellence in learning.
Goal Four: Strengthening the agility and sustainability of learning communities
All LESNW learning communities work to operate at a sustainable level enabled
by the Secretariat and available tools and resources. LESNW works to build the
capacity of their leaders for strategic visioning and responsible decision making in
developing and maintaining an agile and sustainable community.
Goal Five: Equipping governance and leadership for the emerging future
LESNW works to grow and strengthen governance. Our learning communities
support their leaders in continual development for working towards a preferred
future in a changing environment. Leaders network and collaborate with each
other and more broadly.
As you will be aware, we are calling on members of our association to help shape the strategies and actions to enable our strategic plan. Small working groups have been formed to begin this exploration. Last week primary leaders came together (online) to consider our first three goals and I would like to say a very sincere thank you for the contributions towards this. An opportunity for combined and secondary leaders to contribute has been scheduled for Wednesday this week.
I would like to strongly encourage all learning community leaders to get involved and help shape our strategies and actions and in doing so, benefit our association. This is a wonderful opportunity to proactively contribute into co-creating our preferred future as a community of communities. There will be more opportunities to engage in forums/conversations/think tanks into the future.
Commonwealth Government Funding Model
SRS to DMI changes – As you will also be aware, there have been significant changes to the modelling for school funding and over recent times our secretariat, FRAC and LESNW Board have been trying to find a pathway through this that minimizes the impacts of this yet remains true to our needs based funding distribution philosophy. We anticipate being able to give some clarity around a pathway forward as soon as possible and we appreciate everyone’s patience through what is a very complex matter.
