SA Enterprise Bargaining – you will have received a brief update on the EB process and a letter to forward on to employees. EB negotiations continue and look like they will for some time. In the letter that went to employees you will note that one of the matters we have raised is ‘salary’ and it is worth noting that our continued position is to match DECD – not to be in front of them or behind, but on par.
Zones / Hubs – in recent times an emphasis has been placed on connecting our secretariat to the hubs/zones by the attendance of a secretariat staff member at the meetings. Usually these are once a term and often they are in the same week (and maybe on the same day.) From 2020 it will be important that Zone/Hub meetings are scheduled to allow secretariat staff to attend without clashes. I’m not sure on the best way to enact this, however, it seems logical to set a draft schedule and liaise through Heather Waring to ensure we don’t have any clashes.
Superannuation on leave loading – a number of learning communities have been paying superannuation on leave loading. For these communities it will be important to still send the letter out to all employees regarding this matter, alerting them to the fact that it doesn’t apply to them as their school has already been doing it. As staff talk and the matter gains a greater awareness, it will be important that clarity around this is supplied to all staff.
Wishing you all every blessing for this second half of the term.
