Strategic Planning: Over the next couple of days our board and senior secretariat staff will be working with Richard Owens as we continue the strategic planning journey. This will continue into next week’s board meeting. During these sessions we will consider ways of engaging with Learning Communities further to seek input and thoughts into the preferred future for LESNW.
LESNW SA Enterprise Agreement: The bargaining process continues and is generally slow. A pleasing change in the approach to this round of negotiations is that it is ‘issues based’ where we are seeking to ensure the work place culture and practice that we believe is important is reflected in the changes we may (or may not) make in the EA. This of course cuts across all facets that contribute to that culture and ethos – staff, leadership, councils, secretariat and the IEU as well. Something that we feel is important in the negotiation process and final Enterprise Agreement is that there is alignment across all of these as we work together to ensure optimized student outcomes.
Alignment: When speaking of ‘alignment’ above, we have also been in recent discussions and communications with both LEA and the LCA SA-NT DCC so that we can work towards greater clarity on respective roles and responsibilities and try to gain improvements in our processes and professional relationships. While it’s early days, it has been a definite direction from our board to seek clarity in these areas.
