LESNW Strategic Planning: In the last News4Leaders I flagged that we would be conducting a survey to gather your input in the development of a new LESNW Strategic Plan. At the BARLE meeting last Wednesday we discussed (as a group) the questions that have been flagged for the survey and I believe this was really beneficial. So there will be a slight change of tack, in that during the coming weeks I’ll be making contact with the groups (LEAF / LEAH / Connected Schools etc) to liaise a time within your regular meetings/catch ups to discuss these questions. Following that, we’ll also do a survey so that those who are unable to feed into these sessions can also have input.
LESNW Governance Structure Review: Work continues as we develop the planned changes to our LESNW Council structure and processes. At the moment we are working on the Terms of Reference for a new Governance Committee and associated changes to the LESNW Constitution. A key target date is November 12 (2018) at 4.30pm when we plan to hold a Special General Meeting to (hopefully) adopt the changes. These changes will be distributed to learning communities in mid/late September for consideration and final feedback.
LEA Governance Review: In the coming days you will receive a letter regarding a set of proposals that will be tabled at Synod. Please take the time to read this letter and the proposals and seek any clarification you might require.
Liberty College Two Wells and the Springhead Retreat proposal: The proposal for the new Lutheran School at Two Wells (called Liberty College) has been approved by the LESNW Finance Committee and LESNW Council. These plans are currently before the District Church Council for their approval. Please pray for this project as well as the plans that are being liaised and developed around repurposing the Springhead site into a retreat and camp facility which will come before the LESNW Council at our next meeting. Both of these are exciting ventures for our system, albeit with several steps to still be taken.
