This was the challenge for the IPS school council last Wednesday night. After reviewing documentation and stakeholder data from the past two years as well as associated actions which have occurred, the council members spent time reviewing each of the Growing deep: Vocational Practices to identify:
- What is there to celebrate?
- What is there to cultivate?
- What is there to create?
They then began the process of developing an aspirational goal from the generation of thinking and feed-in which will shape the focus for the future.
Principal Bec Clements also provided school council members with the opportunity to reflect on ‘our foundation’ from Growing deep and to identify which of the statements they felt best captured who the school is and its purpose. It was significant that the events of the past months have strengthened the importance and focus on this core foundation at the school.
The active engagement and collaboration of the council members was inspiring. It will be exciting to follow the development and implementation of the goals and strategies and how they support the shared vision of the learning community to be lived.
