On Monday 21 January staff with leadership roles or interested in developing their thinking about leadership came together to explore awareness based system leadership and its relevance to personal and professional vision and action.
The workshop commenced with a devotion lead by John Proeve who connected the school focus of Change to the Growing Deep Capabilities of Learning and Adapting.
Mignon Weckert then facilitated an exploration of Theory U, connections to Growing Deep, identifying previous and current barriers, and then using awareness-based practices such as circle time, dialogue walks and journaling, to explore current challenges and emerging areas of focus.
The group began their engagement with system thinking, identifying current reality and preferred future in their specific area of leadership and will further develop their thinking about this in future sessions.
Outcomes of the half-day workshop included the development of a common language and approach which reflects the vision of LESNW, making relevant connections to Growing Deep, and engaging with practices which support learning communities to lead for the emerging future.
