The 21st Century Learning Conference is an annual event in Hong Kong where teachers, staff, and school leaders come together to learn, share and discuss current & emerging topics in education with thought leaders, technology, and learning experts, and their peers. The event blended together school tours, keynotes, practitioner-led workshop sessions, and networking opportunities.
John Proeve and Mignon Weckert joined Dr Richard Owens to lead a session on Awareness-Based System Leadership and to share the learning which is occurring in LESNW as a result of this approach.
One of the many valuable aspects of conference was a one-day tour to five schools to see and learn more about the ways technology is embedded into the curriculum and the maker movement.
Quote from one of the leaders: “Everyone is making or creating lovely maker spaces. They are great if they are available … but not necessary to effective maker centred learning in a school”.
