Last week I had the privilege of working with leaders and staff of the three campuses of GSLC Darwin. The leaders came together to co-create a common understanding and commitment to collaboration and collaborative practices within and across three campuses which reflects the teaching and learning philosophy of the school and responds to recent feedback from a school Evaluation process.
Leaders and teacher leaders from across the campuses engaged in a whole day workshop exploring current research in relation to mathematics learning and how this connects to learning at GSLC. All staff from across the three campuses engaged in professional learning in relation to this area in an after-school workshop.
The following day, leaders identified ways to explore the current reality of mathematics learning across the campuses ensuring the voice of the students and staff in order to plan for next steps.
Embedding effective collaboration, ensuring voice of the learner, empowering staff to lead learning, and co-creating a preferred future after identifying the current reality are all important steps in leading change. I look forward to sharing ongoing updates about the process occurring at GSLC Darwin.
