47 degrees did not prevent the staff members of St John’s Eudunda and Vineyard Clare joining together to continue their collaboration around shared area of focus.
The teachers built on their understandings from an initial workshop in 2018. The group explored the nature of mathematics and the role of inquiry, resources which support inquiry, the importance of feedback and allowing learners to explore ways of proving their developing theories. They used this information to plan for conceptual learning where learners are actively engaged, are motivated, take risks and have a strong learner voice.
The staff from both schools and their leaders are to be commended for their professional collaboration and engagement throughout the day despite the extreme weather conditions.
