Commonwealth Government Funding Model SRS to DMI changes: Recently John and I sent a letter to all of our learning communities outlining a plan devised by our Association’s Finance Risk and Audit Committee and that plan was accepted by our Board and communicated with all members.
Certainly the changes and nuances as we transition from the old modelling of funding to the DMI / CTC methods are complex and they impact each site differently. The plan to increase the SDF levy for the next 2 years by 0.5% and the distribution method back to sites that have been unexpectedly disadvantaged can only be implemented following a formal motion at a Special Meeting (17 September) of our membership.
My strong encouragement, should you have any questions around this, is to speak with John and/or Brad and before the Special Meeting to better understand your specific circumstances.
LESNW Strategic Intentions: On behalf of our Board I’d like to thank all the members of our Association who have either contributed to the development of strategies to enable our strategic intents, or have released staff to do so.
It’s my belief that statements that we are a ‘community of communities’ and that we are ‘better together’ underpin both our approach to developing strategies to enable our strategic intents as well as the way our FRAC and Board have responded to the government funding issues before us.
