In the past week LESNW principals, directors and LESNW directors and leaders have established new learning labs where ‘excellence is pursued through a culture of reflection, collaboration, innovation and creativity’ (Growing deep Vocational Practices).
The principals and heads of school from past Labs have joined together as part of Lab 2.0. Dr Richard Owens is guiding the process with the following aim:
Leverage collective understanding of systems leadership to drive school innovation and improvement, with an emphasis on design thinking, action learning and the study of evidence of impact.
The participants are currently working on the ‘Discovery’ phase, shaping questions, developing teams, creating an action plan, interviewing stakeholders and collecting data. We look forward to sharing progress from this Lab throughout the year.
The third Lab 1.0 for principals and directors also commenced. In this learning lab the leaders focus on systems thinking, systems sensing and developing a compassionate and generative stance to dialogue and collaboration with a strong focus on the vocational practices and capabilities from “Growing deep”.
