Dr. Jared Cooney Hovath: From the Brain to the Classroom – The End of Education?
Lecture topic: From the Brain to the Classroom – The End of Education?
During this fun and interactive session, Jared will ask the question ‘What is the Function of Modern Schooling and Formal Education?’.
By examining the truth behind how the brain works to interpret the world around us, Jared will consider what functions current educational models and tools (including Assessment and 21c Skills) serve. Importantly, if these functions do not resonate with teachers, leaders, and parents, what are some of the alternative functions schools might aim to embody.
The goal of Jared’s session is to re-empower educators and leaders: to demonstrate that stories matter and that they have the ultimate power to determine the End of Education.
