CS Grow: Taking a conceptual approach to the implementation of the CSCF

This 3-hour professional learning session will explore: what concepts are why they are valuable for teaching and learning how to view the CSCF (Christian Studies Curriculum Framework) conceptually. We will identify concepts for each key idea and band level of the CSCF. This will assist teachers to develop and consider a conceptual approach to teaching CS that can link with other learning areas in the Australian Curriculum. CS Grow 2021 T3

CS Grow: Biblical strategies

We will experience an approach to the planning of Christian Studies which uses a 3-step model with a conceptual lens: Engaging with the CSCF Reading parts of ‘A God who speaks and acts’ Engaging in a biblical strategy. This learning will then be transferred to the planning of a CS unit with students, or the planning of a session to be facilitated with staff in your learning community. CS Grow 2021 T3

CS Grow: Collaborative planning

Please bring a CS unit of work connected to the CW strand of the CSCF to assist with this collaborative planning process. We will revisit the big idea or unit question to clarify what the key idea is about, and why it is being learnt by the students. This will involve developing a deeper understanding of the theology, exploring an underpinning Bible story, and using a new biblical approach to deepen understanding of the story.
